Apple iPhone SE 2 is Speculated to Debut in Q1 2018

Fresh information suggests that Apple is working on a 4-inch iPhone. It is speculated to arrive as a successor model for the original iPhone SE smartphone that was launched in March 2016.

According to Chinese media, the rumored iPhone SE 2 will be built in India by Wistron, a Taiwanese contract electronics maker. However, it will be available for purchase across the world. It is expected to get announced in the first quarter of 2018.

Wistron had not only carried out the production of iPhone SE earlier this year, but also it had manufactured some iPhone 8 models. Reports have revealed that Wistron is aiming to build a new manufacturing unit in Bangalore in order to increase the production of iPhones by threefold over the next five years.

The iPhone SE 2 may feature a 4-inch or a 4.2-inch display. The Apple 10 chipset that powers the iPhone 7 is speculated to power the second-generation iPhone SE. The SoC may be coupled by 2 GB of RAM. It may arrive in two storage models of 32 GB and 128 GB. It is likely to feature a 12-megapixel rear-mounted camera and a 5-megapixel FaceTime camera. Like the iPhone SE, its successor model will continue to feature Touch ID sensor and 3.5mm audio jack. It is rumored to house a 1,700mAh battery.

Speculations are rife that the iPhone SE 2 will be released first in India before it is made available in other markets. It may arrive with a starting price of 399 euros (~$472). Reports have revealed that Apple may debut as many as four iPhones in 2018 as it is not only rumored to launch iPhone SE 2 next year but also it is speculated to launch three iPhone-X like smartphones.
